Volunteer Opportunities

Providing 24 Hour Emergency Criminal Representation for Individuals in Chicago Police Custody.

Hotline Volunteer (Attorneys only):
To become a Hotline volunteer, you must be:

• An attorney in good standing licensed to practice law in Illinois
• Committed to civil rights
• Able to volunteer for one 12-hour shift (6:00 pm – 6:00 am weekday and
  weekend nights or 6:00 am – 6:00 pm Saturday or Sunday) per month

No criminal defense experience is required. Training is provided.
There is no case follow-up after a shift has ended. All case materials are emailed or faxed to FDLA at the end of a shift.
