Street Law Education Initiative
FDLA’s Know Your Rights Education Campaigns conduct street outreach, workshops, leadership development and produce multimedia educational materials to build the hope, skills, and knowledge necessary for people to access their constitutional rights when in contact with police. While in 2013, only .211% of arrestees had a lawyer available to consult with at the police station, the campaigns focus in Greater Englewood and Greater Lawndale to double this rate in 2015.
To become a Street Law volunteer, attend a workshop to observe and and introduce yourself to the organizers. We will train and support you to deliver workshops!
