Sladjana Vuckovic to be honored as one of FDLA’s “20 for 20”

FDLA Staff Alumna, long-time volScreen Shot 2015-04-06 at 8.56.31 AMunteer and survivor of an infamous legal attack on First Defenders, Sladjana Vuckovic is an FDLA 20 for 20 honoree.

Cook County prosecutors charged Ms. Vuckovic with two felony counts of bringing contraband into a penal institution after she allowed a client to use her cell phone to contact family from the police station. She was found not guilty.  While on staff, she was instrumental in the establishment of a “Witness Advisory” to ensure non-custodial witnesses know they are free to leave when being questioned in a police station. She has volunteered with FDLA since 1999.
