Cook County prosecutors charged Ms. Vuckovic with two felony counts of bringing contraband into a penal institution after she allowed a client to use her cell phone to contact family from the police station. She was found not guilty. While on staff, she was instrumental in the establishment of a “Witness Advisory” to ensure non-custodial witnesses know they are free to leave when being questioned in a police station. She has volunteered with FDLA since 1999.
