Know Your Rights at Arrest: Why and how to invoke your rights during a police encounter.

FDLA’s Know Your Rights multimedia peer education campaigns conduct street outreach, workshops, leadership development, and produce multimedia educational materials to build the hope, skills, and knowledge necessary for people to access their constitutional rights when in contact with police.

FDLA trains and supports youth, parents, law students, attorneys, and partner organizations in specific Chicago communities to in turn train their own constituents.

Our ever-expanding geographic areas of focus for providing community members with Know Your Rights knowledge is currently Englewood, Oakland, Bronzeville, North Lawndale, Austin, Roseland, South Shore, Kenwood, South Chicago, Grand Crossing, Auburn Gresham, West Englewood, Homan Square, Woodlawn, Washington Park, and Garfield Park. However, we want to equip all Chicagoans with the power of knowing their rights when confronted by the police.
